Vampire elves were not immortal, but their lives stretched long across centuries. Folktales say that when the end finally came, their remains were found draped in great moths - gentle, winged spirits that guided them through the final passage.
It’s believed that when vampire elves sense their time is near, they call upon a sacred moth. It lands upon them, covering their eyes with its wings, so they may pass on without fear - held, protected, and at peace.
These moths became sacred symbols among their kind - a final companion, a guide between worlds.
