Frida — A Life in Colour

Frida Kahlo was more fearless than any other artist in using her own life as the subject of her art, and her paintings dealt with themes such as identity, love, pain, nature, and resilience, usually featuring the bright colours and flowers of her Mexican heritage.

The Frida Collection is inspired by this extraordinary world and shows off flowers, hearts, skulls, paint and portraiture in handmade beads as a way of paying tribute to creativity, courage and the beauty of all the different aspects of life.

Each sterling silver item starts as a hand-carved wax model, then is cast in silver using the traditional lostwax technique. The colourful Frida Flower is made one at a time by our master lampworker, then finished in Bali with our characteristic sterling silver core.

We learn that life can be beautiful even though it is not perfect, and that some of the most important art is the result of the experiences that shape us.
